SUMMARY OF DUTIES The Mission is seeking to staff a Senior Executive Assistant position supporting the Head of Mission Program, as well as to establish a pool of qualified candidates for other administrative positions that may arise as a result of this selection process. The successful candidate(s) will provide high-level administrative support to the Office of the Consul General and ad hoc administrative support to other programs within the Mission.
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing administrative support to the office of the Consul General;
- Coordinating, planning and organizing a wide range of activities related to meetings, events or visits, which includes making travel/accommodation arrangements and contracting hospitality vendors;
- Scheduling and overseeing protocol and logistics for meetings, events and visits;
- Preparing expense claims, invoices and budget reports to ensure efficient management and accountability of program funds;
- Overseeing the daily agenda of the executive
- Reviewing and preparing correspondence which require the Consul General's action and signature;
- Liaising with section heads and teams within the Consulate and with the offices of senior officials of foreign governments present in territory, industry representatives, executives in the private sector, and other local interlocutors;
- Performing other duties as required.
AREA OF SELECTION This selection process is open to employees currently occupying an indeterminate or term position at the Consulate General of Canada in Atlanta, who meet all the essential qualifications and whose applications are received by the closing date.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS All essential qualifications will be assessed. Education This position requires:
- An Associate degree or a College diploma fr om a legally recognized college or university;
OR - An equivalent combination of three years of education, training, and/or experience. Note: Candidates will be required to provide proof of their education
Language The Following languages and proficiency levels are required for this job. Candidates will be formally assessed or requested to provide proof of certification on these levels.
- An intermediate proficiency level (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking) in English.
Experience In order to perform the duties relevant to this job, the following experience is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of cumulative experience providing administrative support to senior-level management in a public or private sector organization, including planning and coordinating events, managing guest lists, conducting vendor research, and/or providing on-site event support.

Competency Dictionary ASSET QUALIFICATIONS Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.
- Basic knowledge of French
- Experience working in government or a foreign mission
- Knowledge of event management practice
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Operational requirements will be assessed on a ``meet/does not meet`` basis and can be used to determine right fit of a candidate for the position.
- Hours of Work:Normal hours of work of work for this position are in accordance with Locally-Engaged Staff regulations of 37.5 hours per week.
- Overtime: Willingness to work overtime on short notice.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Conditions of employment must be met or complied with before being appointed to a particular position. They are to be maintained throughout the employment period.
- Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period.
- Security screening: Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada.
